Elks Youth Batters Up Contest
This Sunday, July 20, Elks from the NJ East Central District will host a Youth Batters Up Contest at the Hall Stadium Complex, located at 900 Lehigh Avenue in Union.
The event is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 15 (as of July 31), with participants grouped into five age divisions by gender. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the contest kicks off at 9:00 a.m.
Each participant will take 10 swings and aim to score points by hitting into designated target zones. Winners from each age group will advance to the NJ State Elks Batter Up Finals. Players are encouraged to bring their own bat and helmet.
Following the contest, all participants and their families are invited to the Union Elks Lodge (281 Chestnut Street) for refreshments and an awards ceremony.
The Batters Up Contest is part of a broader series of youth programs supported by the Elks, including the Soccer Shoot, Hoop Shoot, and Junior Golf Program. These initiatives are designed to support character development, celebrate young talent, and help guide youth toward becoming future leaders.
